Did you know that the world record for the most balls juggled is 14? And it probably won’t be broken any time soon.
Engineer-Juggler Jack Kalvan discovered the reason people struggle to juggle more than 14 balls isn’t because of how fast people can throw balls in the air - the theoretical limit for that is around 23.
It’s actually because the more balls you juggle, the more accurate you need to be with your throws. But the more balls you juggle, the less accurate your throws become.
It’s a catch-22, and accuracy is the limiting factor.
There’s a lesson to be learned here for life as well.
We all try to juggle lots of commitments, responsibilities and obligations. And the more we try to do everything, the less well we do it.
What we want in life is not the stress of juggling 14 balls, but the joy of juggling less, better, and for longer. For life.
So the question I want to ask you this week is a simple and short one:
Are you juggling too many balls at the risk of dropping them all?
