Dear Mind,
What a journey it’s been.
You’ve been my companion through it all,
And you’ve helped me more than I can imagine.
Your thoughts have solved problems for me,
And your feelings have directed my path.
Although sometimes you created bad thoughts and feelings,
I know that all you were trying to do was protect me.
But now I have one final journey for you,
And we might not even reach the destination in this lifetime.
I want your help in taking me somewhere,
Somewhere infinite and eternal:
The purest essence of my Self.
It’s not going to be easy to get there.
We’ll have our share of troubles,
Maybe even tragedy.
But I know you’ll be there for me.
At the end of this treacherous journey, with you as my guide,
I must do something that will hurt you.
I will no longer attach to you.
I will be a part of my True and Eternal Self.
I’m sorry I’ll be leaving your walled Eden,
But it’s something I must do.
You’ll remain my closest counsel,
And you’ll continue to do what you do,
But I won’t be able to stay in your garden again.
I’ll have freedom from you,
But you’ll also have freedom from me,
To think the most beautiful and powerful thoughts.
And I’ll still be able to see them.
From my new home.
Unencumbered by me,
You’ll be free to feel the most beautiful feelings.
And I’ll still be able to feel them.
From my new home.
So take this as my promise.
That even though I will leave to meet Infinity,
You are a part of it.
With all my love,
Me

Thanks for the mention Zan!
Great piece, Zan. It is such an interesting thing the notion that to step into the eternal self we will have to leave behind the mind we have identified with — it’s a hard one to conceptualise (pun intended).
Thanks Zan :)
